The Electropen-Dermapen is a microneedling device used for skin renewal, rejuvenation and improvement. This device makes microscopic punctures in the upper layers of the skin with numerous fine needles, increasing collagen production in the skin. In this way, problems such as wrinkles, acne scars, blemishes, enlarged pores can be reduced.

It is a treatment method that punctures the skin with small needles to stimulate the skin’s natural healing process and the skin’s production of elastin and collagen, thus making the skin look younger, healthier and smoother. Electropen and Dermapen are different brand names for the therapy method used to regenerate and improve the skin. With electroporation technology, it accelerates the natural healing process and promotes collagen reorganization without stimulating the skin. This method smooths and brightens the skin and improves wrinkles. It can also help with other skin problems such as hair loss (alopecia) treatment and pore minimization.

During the Dermapen procedure, microneedles at the tip of the device act on the lower layers of the skin, which starts the body’s natural healing process. Collagen and elastin production in the skin increases, making the skin look younger, firmer and healthier.

How Does Dermapen Work?

Dermapen uses microneedling (dermaroller) technology to trigger natural healing processes in the skin. The working logic basically works like this:

  1. Application to the Skin with Microneedles: Dermapen is a device with many fine microneedles on its head. When these microneedles are quickly applied to the skin, they create microscopic holes (channels) in the upper layers of the skin. This procedure is often referred to as “microneedling” or “burring”.
  2. Skin Damage and Regeneration Process: When tiny holes are punctured on the surface of the skin, the skin begins to heal these microdamages. This process triggers the skin’s natural healing mechanism. The body starts to produce more collagen and elastin during the healing process. These two substances are proteins that keep the skin firm, elastic and youthful-looking.
  3. Collagen and Elastin Production: This damage with microneedles stimulates the production of new cells deep within the skin. Collagen and elastin production increases and the skin becomes stronger, firmer and more elastic. This improves the overall appearance of the skin and provides a healthier look.
  4. Penetration of Active Ingredients into the Skin: Serums or creams are usually also applied to the skin during Dermapen treatment. Thanks to microneedles, these active ingredients penetrate deeper into the lower layers of the skin. In this way, skin problems (acne scars, wrinkles, blemishes) in the treated area can heal faster and more effectively.
  5. Skin Regeneration and Transformation: When more than one session is applied, a significant regeneration and transformation of the skin is seen. The skin becomes smoother, younger and more vibrant. In addition, problems such as blemishes, scars and fine wrinkles on the skin also decrease over time.

In a nutshell, Dermapen initiates the healing process by creating micro-damage to the skin and stimulates the body to produce more collagen and elastin. This process allows the skin to regenerate and helps to achieve an aesthetically younger, healthier and smoother appearance.

Benefits of Dermapen Application

Some of the benefits of Dermapen application are as follows:

  • Skin Rejuvenation: Reduces wrinkles and fine lines by increasing skin elasticity.
  • Acne Scars Helps to remove acne scars.
  • Pores It shrinks the pores and makes the skin look smoother.
  • Beard Loss Effective for the treatment of hair loss (alopecia).
  • Other Skin Problems: It removes skin problems such as dark spots, stretch marks and acne scars.

Benefits of Skin Rejuvenation with Dermapen

  1. Collagen Production: Micro-needles make small punctures in the skin, increasing the skin’s collagen and elastin production. This helps to tighten the skin and reduce fine lines.
  2. Skin Tone and Texture: Dermapen improves skin tone and texture, resulting in smoother and more even skin.
  3. Scars and Blemishes: Reduces the appearance of acne scars, surgical scars, sun spots and other skin blemishes.
  4. Pores Helps shrink large pores.
  5. Moisturizing: By opening micro-channels, it increases the skin’s moisture retention capacity and provides a more moisturized skin.

How often is Dermapen applied?

The frequency of micro-needling treatment with Dermapen varies depending on the condition of the treated area, the healing capacity of the skin and the desired results. However, as a general guide, dermapen application is usually performed at the following intervals:

  1. Start Series:
    • The first 3-6 sessions are applied every 4-6 weeks.
    • In this first period, the aim is to stimulate skin regeneration and achieve significant results.
  2. Care Sessions:
    • After completing the initial series, maintenance sessions are usually recommended every 3-6 months.
    • Maintenance sessions are carried out with the aim of maintaining the results achieved and maintaining the youthful and healthy appearance of the skin.

Since each individual’s skin type, age, health status and response to treatment are different, the frequency of dermapen treatment should be determined individually. It would be useful to consult a dermatologist or aesthetic specialist for the most accurate application intervals.

What are the Side Effects of Dermapen?

Micro-needling treatment with Dermapen is generally safe and has few side effects. However, there may be some rare side effects. Here are some side effects to watch out for:

  1. Skin Irritation: Skin irritation, itching or inflammation may occur after the procedure. This condition usually resolves spontaneously within 24-48 hours after the procedure.
  2. Redness and Bruising: After the procedure, changes in the appearance of the skin such as redness, bruising or edema may occur. These conditions are usually short-lived and mild.
  3. Bleeding After deep micro-needling, there is a risk of bleeding after deeper procedures, as in the removal of deep scars on the skin. Bleeding usually does not last long.
  4. Allergic Reactions: Allergic individuals may experience urticaria, itching or histamine production due to hypersensitivity.
  5. Immunosuppression: Dermapen treatment is not recommended in immunosuppressed patients.
  6. Diabetes Patients: People with diabetes may be at increased risk of secondary infections.
  7. Hot and Humid Environments: Hot and humid environments such as saunas, thermal baths and swimming should be avoided.

After a Dermapen treatment, it is important to take care to protect your skin and support the healing process. Side effects may vary depending on your response to treatment and your skin type. It is useful to consult a dermatologist or aesthetic specialist before treatment.
