I graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1999. I completed my residency training at Turkiye Yüksek İhtisas Hospital and became a Cardiovascular Surgeon in 2006. My final thesis was ‘Evaluation of Allograft Vasculopathy in Cardiac Transplant Recipients with Computed Tomographic Coronary Angiography’. During my residency training, I visited the clinic of Prof. Dr. Antonio Calafiore at the Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria Città della Salute e della Scienza di Torino Hospital in Turin, Italy in 2004 as an observer. During my residency I also attended the training organized by the General Directorate of Primary Health Care of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey and received the Medical Aesthetics Application Certificate after succeeding their exams in 2005. As a resident of top cardiovascular hospital in Turkey, I had the opportunity to get training from very experienced mentors, which I gained best surgical knowledge and experience. I feel very privileged to have received training at a centre like Türkiye Yüksek İhtisas Hospital which has accomplished many firsts in the field of cardiovascular surgery in our country.
Following my residency, I worked as a consulting surgeon at the Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic of Ankara Atatürk Education and Research Hospital between 2006-2019. I continued my duty as chief consultant after 2013 by succeeding the written and oral exams of the Ministry of Health. During this period, I and my colleagues, performed mainly adult cardiovascular cases such as coronary bypass grafting, heart valve repair or replacements, peripheral vascular and varicose vein surgeries, endovascular major vascular interventions, deep venous thrombosis interventional treatments as well as following up our patients in the intensive care units, wards and polyclinics and mentoring residents. I also continued my academic career, participated in various scientific studies and published scientific articles.
I then succeeded the oral exams and fulfilled necessary requirements to become an Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery in 2015.
Since the Atatürk Training and Research Hospital where I worked was moved to newly built Ankara City Hospital, largest medical campus of Turkey, I continued my career as a Senior Surgeon at Ankara City Hospital Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic between 2019-2023.
I have been receiving patients in my private office since November 2023. I primarily perform surgical, medical and aesthetic treatments of venous diseases and varicose veins, which is for me the special topic of interest. In addition, I perform medical aesthetic procedures in my office which I had additional training during my residency, giving me great pleasure.
I also continue my scientific activities. I attend many national and international congresses, seminars and symposiums, as an invited speaker, trainer, or sometimes as a participant only to renew and increase my knowledge. I am active member of scientific organizations such as Turkish Association of Cardiovascular Surgery, National Association of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Phlebology Association, The Cardiothoracic Surgery Network and European Society for Vascular Surgery.
The public service announcement titled “You are my hero” prepared by the Turkish Ministry of Health for March 14th Medical Day, in which I played a role during my duty at Bilkent City Hospital.
“Another TV” I was invited as an expert guest on the YouTube channel, “What is Varicose Veins? How is it treated?” themed program.
