The surgical approach to be performed is determined according to each patient&#8217;s varicose vein status and personal characteristics. The incisions are then closed. Small incision scars may remain. These are <em>local varicose dilatations<\/em>. It is possible to remove them by making small incisions under local anaesthesia (<em>pack excision, mini phlebectomy<\/em>). The incisions are closed with individual stitches or strips.
